Com mais de 80 anos de existência, é uma das mais antigas empresas de perfumes do Brasil. Em 1930, os primos portugueses Antonio e Mario Santiago fundaram em Belém - no coração da Amazônia - a Phebo. Com o sonho de criar um sabonete brasileiro à altura dos melhores do mundo na época, mergulharam a fundo nas essências naturais da região e descobriram uma mistura perfeita. O famoso e insubstituível sabonete, de formato oval, transparente e preto, rapidamente chegou a casa de milhões de brasileiros. A marca Phebo foi vendida e atualmente pertence a Casa Granado.
A Perfumaria Orium segue com
a fabricação e venda de seus produtos em Belém, tendo em seu portfólio frascos
de perfume de 35ml, 100ml, 200ml e 500ml.

Amazônia – Essência da Floresta
A paixão de um homem pela
química e pela Amazônia fez o descendente de libaneses, Oscar Chamma, registrar
a marca Perfumaria Chamma em 1960, em frente ao Mercado Ver-o-Peso, em Belém do
Pará. Foi a pioneira na produção de perfumes a partir de matérias-primas da
floresta amazônica, como a oriza, a priprioca, entre outros.
A Chamma Amazônia tem uma linha extensa de produtos como Banho de Cheiro, perfumes femininos, masculinos, sachês de ambiente, perfumador de ambiente e linha para cabelo e corpo.
A Lenda do Açaí contada pela
Chamma Amazônia:
Há muito tempo existia na
região onde é hoje o estado do Pará uma tribo indígena muito numerosa. Houve
uma época de escassez de alimentos em que a tribo não conseguia alimentar todos
os seus habitantes. Então o cacique Itaki tomou uma decisão muito cruel.
Resolveu que a partir daquele dia todas as crianças recém-nascidas deveriam ser
sacrificadas para evitar o crescimento da tribo.
Até que um dia a filha do
cacique, chamada Iaçã, deu à luz uma bonita menina, que também teve de ser
sacrificada. Iaçã ficou desesperada, chorava todas as noites de saudades de sua
filhinha. Iaçã ficou por vários dias enclausurada em sua oca e pediu à Tupã que
mostrasse ao seu pai outra maneira de ajudar seu povo, sem o sacrifício das
crianças.
Certa noite de lua cheia, Iaçã
ouviu um choro de criança. Aproximou-se da porta de sua oca e viu sua linda
filhinha sorridente, ao pé de uma grande palmeira. Lançou-se em direção à
filha, abraçando-a. Porém, misteriosamente, sua filha desapareceu em uma nuvem
brilhante.
Iaçã, inconsolável, chorou
muito ali até a morte. No dia seguinte, seu corpo foi encontrado abraçado ao
tronco da palmeira, em seu rosto trazia ainda um sorriso de felicidade e seus
olhos negros fitavam o alto da palmeira, que estava carregada de frutinhos
escuros. Itaki então mandou que apanhassem os frutos, deles foi obtido um suco
avermelhado que batizou de AÇAÍ, em homenagem a sua filha (Iaçã invertido).
Alimentou seu povo e, a partir deste dia, suspendeu sua ordem de sacrificar as
crianças.

Chamma Amazônia - Essence of the Forest
A company that was created by a Lebanese descent,
Oscar Chamma in 1960. It was at the Mercado Ver-o-Peso, in Belem – Pará. They
say they were the pioneer in the production of perfumes from the Amazon forest,
such as oriza, priprioca, acai, among others.
The Açai Legend told by Chamma Amazonia (Açai fruit is very well known abroad Brazil and it is classified as Super Fruit):
Long existed in the region where is now the state of Pará, a native Indian tribe that was very populous. There was a time of food shortages in the tribe and they could not feed all the people. Then, the chief Itaki made a very drastic decision. He decided that from that day on, all newborn children should be sacrificed to prevent the growth of the tribe.
One day his daughter, called IAÇA, gave birth to a
beautiful girl, who also had to be sacrificed. IAÇA was desperate, crying all
night long for her little girl. IAÇA remained several days cloistered in her
hut and asked Tupã (their God) to show her father another way to help his
people, without killing the newborn babies.
One full moon night, IAÇA heard a child crying. She approached
the door of her hut and saw her beautiful daughter smiling at the foot of a
large palm. She lunged toward her daughter, hugging her. But, mysteriously, her
daughter disappeared in a bright cloud.
IAÇA was devastated and wept there until she died. The
next day her body was found hugging the trunk of the palm tree, her face still
wore a smile of happiness, and her black eyes gazed top of the palm, which was
laden with dark little fruits. Itaki then told the Indians to catch the fruit, he
tried and realized that it was tasty and strong. In honor of his daughter IAÇA,
he named the fruit AÇAI (IACA inverted). With those fruits he fed his people,
and from that day on none of the newborn children were sacrificed any longer.
